What makes Claremont a good fit for someone who wants to live in a facility like ours?

1) Is Claremont Retirement Village an assisted living facility?

No, Claremont is not an assisted living facility.  We do offer Catered Care Living that falls into the category between independent living and assisted care.  Our facility is set up to address an individual’s needs as they occur.  We feel this kind of care is more practical and economical; as a resident needs more care, they get it. 2) Does Claremont accept Medicare and Medicaid?

No, we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.  We are a private pay facility. Back to Top

3) Who owns Claremont Retirement Village?

Claremont is a privately held and managed facility.  Therefore, we are not part of a corporate and faceless entity.  Clare Kilar, the principal owner manages the Village and is a frequent visitor.  She likes to meet and get to know her residents. Back to Top

4) Can I bring my car if I become a resident?  And where do I keep it?

Of course you can bring your car.  We have plenty of parking spaces around our complex.  We also have covered carports that are rented out on a yearly basis at the reasonable fee of $25 a month. Back to Top

Yes, we do allow cats and small dogs at $200 per pet.  That fee is non-refundable.  If you have a bird or fish, there is no charge. Back to Top

6) Are utilities included in room pricing?

In Independent Living and Catered Care Living (CCL) all you have to do is pay for electric and telephone.  In CCL we make it easy for our residents by charging a flat fee for electric and taking care of the bill for them.  Cable TV is provided throughout the Village. Back to Top

7) What are Claremont’s visiting hours?

We do not have set visiting hours.  Our main lobby door opens at 5:30 AM and is locked at 10:30 PM.  After 10:30 PM, residents or staff can only open doors around the facility with access cards. Back to Top

8) Can visitors request a family stay with residents at Claremont?

Claremont Retirement Village allows guests and family members to stay in a resident’s apartment for a maximum of 10 days.  There are several hotels and motels within a 5-minute drive of our facility that will accommodate you if you need to stay in Columbus longer. Back to Top

9) What causes the difference in prices among the same apartments?

Some residents that are not as mobile wish to be closer to the dining rooms.  As in real estate, location – location – location makes a price difference.  Therefore, if a resident is more mobile, we offer a discount to live in apartments further away. Back to Top

10) What makes Claremont a good fit for someone who wants to live in a facility like ours?

Strangers to our facility cannot help but notice the warm and friendly feeling when you walk through our Village.  Our residents and our staff will always acknowledge you no matter how many times a day they may see you in the halls.  We strive to keep our rates low and still give the best possible service we can.
